Tutorial: IMG Tool 2.0 / How to add cars.

Here you will see, how easy it is to add cars, with the IMG Tool 2.0.
This tutorial was written by Stefan. I will just translate it ..


You need:
IMG Tool 2.0

Preparing:

• download your favourite car
• extract the .dff and .txd to the desktop
• open the readme document and minimize it ( you will need it later)

Now you can start:

• Start the IMG Tool
• File -> Open -> C:/Programme/Rockstar Games/GTA San Andreas/models/gta3.img (The path depends on where you installed the game)

Now search the car you want to replace. In this case the uranus:

• Push F2
• Enable Uranus

Create a backup of the files uranus.dff and uranus.txd:

• Right mouseclick on the file (.dff and.txd)
• Extract
• Put it somewhere (A folder called "Backup" would make sense)

You just saved the files. Now delete them, and add the new ones:

• Chose uranus.dff
• Right mouseclick -> Delete
• Chose uranus.txd
• Right mouseclick -> Delete

• Commands -> Add
• Chose the .dff and .txd files you put in your desktop

The car is in your game now, but you still can make it look better. I hope you still have opened the readme file. You will find lines for some documents in the data-folder of San Andreas. It should be a line for handling.cfg, carcols.dat and vehicles.ide.


For some it is not that easy to enable the lines correctly. Stefan downloaded this BMW. In the readme file you will find the lines you need.

Replace these setting in following files:

Now go to your San Andreas -> Date folder and searh this 4 files. Search the correct line, copy the line from the readme and paste it in the file it has to be filled it.

Have fun !

Do not forget to backup the original files !

I have added 1 car which is a 71 cutlass to the game.........I replaced all the cars that i didnt want with that car.When i open up gta garage i see the changes but when i play the game they are nowhere in sight even when i spawn...Help please

what was the car you replaced it with?
sometimes it happened to me those cars are in sf or lv which also means you gotta go get a four star wanted on your tail just to look at the car
or you can wait til you access those cities
