Recap: Episode 5 of Cleveland Browns on HBO’s Hard Knocks

The fifth and final episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks Youth Emmanuel Ogbah Jersey , featuring the Cleveland Browns, took place Tuesday night. Let’s recap the major storylines that were on display. The Stunning Mychal Kendricks NewsThe episode started with the coaches and players hearing and being stunned by the news of LB Mychal Kendricks being involved in inside trading. The Roster Bubble CutsI would say that 75% of the episode focused on the gameday performances and then releases of QB Brogan Roback, TE Devon Cajuste, DE Nate Orchard, and DE Carl Nassib. It was rough watching each of their hopes be dampened. We learned that Assistant GM Eliot Wolf is the guy with the not-fun responsibility of calling players up to tell them to come in, informing them of their release. They also then get a quick last talk with head coach Hue Jackson.Announcing the Backup QBHave you ever wondered how a coach tells his No. 2 and No. 3 quarterbacks which of them will be the official “backup?” Hue Jackson sat Drew Stanton and Baker Mayfield down in his office together. It really wasn’t a surprise given how reps have gone all preseason, so neither player was really surprised by the news.Antonio Callaway Chats With Antonio BrownThe Steelers’ receiver had a quick facetime chat with rookie receiver Antonio Callaway:Earned Their StripesPlayers “earning their stripes” has been a running theme all season, and served as the conclusion to the series (even if the claimed players or WR Josh Other NotesWhen DE Carl Nassib got cut in the second round of waiver cuts, it sucked to have to see veteran DT Jamie Meder in the background, an afterthought to the show.Christian Kirksey talked more about his “why Youth Nick Chubb Jersey ,” a callback to earlier in the season. The show ended with a quick montage of unseen coaches highlights of Bob Wylie, Todd Haley, and Gregg Williams. A perfect, comedic way to end the Browns’ run on Hard Knocks:What did you think of the Browns being featured on Hard Knocks? Do you wish they could be on there every year?Browns bolster wide receiver group with ... Rod Streater? Cleveland Browns fans may have missed it amid the news of the Josh Gordon trade, but the team added another wide receiver to the roster on Monday. The club signed Rod Streater, who originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2012 with the Oakland Raiders. The team announced the transaction on its website.Streater had two respectable seasons his first two years with the Raiders, catching a total of99 passes for 1,472 yards and seven touchdowns, while appearing in all 32 games. Things went downhill from there, however Youth David Njoku Jersey , as Streater landed on injured reserve with a broken foot after two games in 2014, then missed training camp in 2015 with an undisclosed illness. That limited his production for his final two years in Oakland to just 10 receptions for 94 yards. The Raiders let Streater leave in free agency and he landed with the San Francisco 49ers for the 2016 season. He appeared in 16 games for the 49ers, but only recorded 18 receptions for 191 yards and two touchdowns. It was just a one-year stop in San Francisco for Streater as he then moved onto the Buffalo Bills as a free agent. It appeared that Streater had a roster spot locked up for 2017, but a toe injury suffered in the preseason wiped out the campaign for Streater. The Bills brought him back this summer, but Streater was unable to win a roster spot among one of the league’s worst wider receiver groups, as Streater could not beat out the likes of Ray-Ray McCloud III, Robert Foster, Andre Holmes, Zay Jones and the since-released Jeremy Kerley. When we last saw Streater, he was catching a touchdown pass from Josh Allen against the Cleveland Browns in the preseason.Streater’s role with the Browns is unclear at this point as Jarvis Landry http://www.thebrownsfootballauthenti...rsey-authentic , Antonio Callaway and Rashard Higgins are the top three wide receivers. Add in tight end David Njoku and running back Duke Johnson, once he gets on track, and there may not be enough passes left for Streater. If he wants playing time, Streater may have to focus on special teams, an area he is more than willing to do, as he told over the summer:Streater may not have much to give on the field, but showing a team-first attitude will at least help set him apart from the player whose roster spot he is replacing.
